These days, modern smartphones are giving neck to neck competition to professional cameras. Their photographic capabilities are beyond what we might have ever thought possible at one time.
But, to shoot an eye-catching portrait, you need techniques more than a fancy camera. We are sharing some tips to shoot cool portraits with phone camera:
Make your subject comfortable, so they can be themselves and appear natural. The lesser awkward experience you create, the more authentic picture you will capture.
Distance from the subject plays a major role as some faces look better if captured from near, others from far. However, the preferred distance lies between 1.5 meters (5 feet) and 4 meters (13 feet).
Find a frame which compliments your subject.Doors and windows act perfect frames for portrait photos. Be creative, find your own.
Play with light. Try using light from the back. When the light appears from the back, it creates a glow effect on the borders of the subject which makes picture appealing.
Leave enough space above the subject’s head. A lot of photographers make this mistake. Add sufficient space above the head, so the picture does not feel cramped or crowded.
Edit the picture in any of your favourite app.Snapseed and Adobe Lightroom are two most used apps. Do you use any other apps? Comment down below.
